March 18, 2025: John Phillips was elected Commodore of the Mieco Beach Yacht Club at its annual general meeting held at the Marshall Islands Resort Tuesday evening. “It’s an honor to be part of the club as it’s a group that is near and dear to me,” he told club members.
While John is new to the board, re-elected were Vice-Commodore Cary Evarts, Membership Director Gary Ehrsam, Quartermaster Ben Vroom, and Publicity Director Karen Earnshaw, who is also taking on the role of Secretary.
The yacht club was founded in 2004 and continues to be the hub for cruisers arriving in the Marshall Islands with one of the main social features being the club’s Tuesday nights out at various restaurants around town.
FOOTNOTE: At the subsequent general meeting of club officials, three new officers were added to the committee. These are Wayne Briscoe (co-Quartermaster), Grace Magruder (Treasurer), and Diana Briscoe (co-Secretary).
